One of the most common questions from parents: "What should I have for breakfast?"The challenge isn't just that it's nutritious — the child must also want to eat it. Here are some practical ideas which combine both.
Basic Rules
- Every snack needs at least 2-3 food groups (e.g. cereals + dairy + fruit)
- Avoid the processed snacks high in sugar and salt
- Prefer whole grain cereals instead of white bread
- Don't push — let the child participates in the selection
5 Snack Ideas
1. Cheese & Vegetable Sandwich
Wholemeal bread with cream cheese or feta cheese, tomato slices and cucumber. Simple, filling, liked by most children.
2. Oats in a Jar
Overnight oats in a small jar with yogurt, honey and seasonal fruit. Eaten cold, easily transported.
3. Homemade Cereal Bar
Oats, honey, nuts and raisinsThey are made in a baking pan, cut into bars, and kept for a week.
4. Fruits & Nuts
Cut seasonal fruit (apple, banana, grapes) with a small handful almonds or walnuts.

An Important Note
Breakfast doesn't have to be perfect every day. A child who eats various during the week, covers his needs. The flexibility and a positive attitude towards food are more important than the ideal menu.
